The Poetic World of Roselyne RUBIN-GREZEL

Originally from Normandy, Roselyne RUBIN-GREZEL is now living in Brittany. She works in the Morgan Etes' studio, a visual artist, in Le Viviers-sur-Mer. She was initiated in painting by two great artists, Fabrice de Varjac (oils) and Jean-Marie Caudron (watercolours). She also followed a course on behavioural therapy and art therapy. Gradually, she enriched her creative approach, eager to develop her own style. Today, she is in line with modernity thanks to an original visual expression that is free of all influences, and exhibits her work in regional salons.

Letting her imagination roam freely, Roselyne Rubin-Grezel has reached a sort of culmination, perfectly mastering shapes, blends and light effects in order to reproduce a reinvented world that is governed by harmony and perfection. Her figurative art is steeped in a “Magical Expressionism” that at times moves towards a stylisation bordering on abstraction. Her favourite themes (superb seascapes, grandiose buildings, cabaret scenes evoking the world of music, yet also still lifes) are an invitation to contemplation. The carefully studied and perfectly balanced frontal compositions are complemented by a flowing and precise brushstroke, a vibrant palette of colours that is often dominated by blue and enriched with subtle shades, and well rendered light reflections.

In works full of serenity, Roselyne Rubin-Grezel masterfully invites us to explore her mysterious world that opens onto new horizons straight out of her dreams. It is a world in which pictorial poetry prevails over the perception of reality and where the way of representing life rhymes with sensitivity, charm and beauty.

Roselyne RUBIN-GREZEL is undoubtedly a figurative painter, but I would not dream of considering her realist. On the contrary, she defines life, beings and nature according to an enchanting and suggestive style, revealing a remarkable gift for expressing herself with appealing fluidity. With an attentive and confident brushstroke, the artist is always able to adapt to the choice of her themes, which conserve their technical primacy and are transformed into creations that exude velvety charm. Elegant perspectives serve to enhance the poetic grace of her palette, her colours boasting convincing contrasts and judicious choices.
Roselyne RUBIN-GREZEL can be both decorative and original, but most importantly, she is master of an effective and mysterious sense of tranquility. And this is substantiated in superb reflections, infinitive perspectives and evocative sweeps, which are in turn reinforced by her well-affirmed personality within an attractive and constantly lively style of painting.
